Autumn Statement and Draft Finance Bill

chancellor

In a refreshing change to Gordon Brown’s secrecy, the Coalition has announced that the Chancellor will give his statement on the economy on 29 November and a draft 2012 Finance Bill will be published on 6 December 2012.

One would imagine it will be nice and simple, as HMRC are still keen to tell us that ‘Tax doesn’t have to be taxing!’ Bets are on for 400+ pages of information!

It comes as a welcome change that the Chancellor gives us important dates and information well in advance, rather than indulge in the control freakery than a certain previous Chancellor enjoyed.

A downside is trying to spot changes between the draft Finance Bill and the final version. Will have to teach the Treasury all about ‘track changes’!

In order to keep your clients up to date we will prepare communication notes and updates on our tax courses.
